Policy is everything in this case

Straight to the point: CBD doesn't cause intoxication, a "buzz", high or inability to operate machinery or vehicles. THC does.

Since it's federally legal and it's non-intoxicating there's nothing wrong with consuming CBD during the daytime or driving after doing so. But, at the firehouse depends on your department's policy.
